Shine the Light

from Callie's diary:

My job was to hold the light for Granny.

Granny was looking for something that was hidden in a dark place, just out of sight. If she could only get the light at the right angle she'd be able to get it.

It is my job to listen to her and hold the lantern.

"- a little this way

- a little up

- now over

- down a tiny bit more

That's it Callie, now hold a minute...."

I tried to see what she was looking for but every time I moved to get a closer look, Granny would bark at me. "Stay still, you are in the way. Just hold the light."

I guess I'll never know what exactly she was trying to have. me shine the light on but in the end she was pleased with what was illuminated.

My message from Granny:

It's my job to tell the story. Shine the light and the right people will see the message they are meant to see.
